China's economy expanded at a faster pace than expected in the third quarter, driven by robust exports linked to artificial intelligence demand and electronics manufacturing.

China's gross domestic product grew 4.5 percent year-on-year between July and September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The figure exceeded economist forecasts and improved from the second quarter's 4.3 percent growth rate, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on Monday.

Factory output expanded significantly faster than consumer spending during the period. Electronics demand, fueled by the AI boom, lifted industrial production and buoyed export flows.

The growth disparity between manufacturing and domestic consumption reflects China's current economic structure. Export-driven sectors, particularly those linked to artificial intelligence and electronics production, powered the acceleration. Consumer spending lagged in comparison, indicating uneven recovery across economic sectors.
