Storm Boelo brought severe winds across northern Britain on Saturday evening, killing a 60-year-old man and cutting power to over 82,000 properties. The man died after a tree fell on him near Castle Douglas in Scotland, according to the Met Office. Wind gusts reached 84 miles per hour during the storm, which affected Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England.
Boelo marked the second consecutive named storm to hit the UK. Storm Austen had struck south-west England the previous day on Friday with strong winds.
