Hurricane Nolo continues to threaten Hawaii with heavy rain, flash floods and strong winds even as the storm moves away from the island chain, which remains vulnerable from previous weather events.

On Sunday, Nolo was located approximately 365 miles south-southwest of Honolulu and moving away from the Big Island at 12 miles per hour, according to reporting. Maximum sustained winds reached 115 miles per hour. The Hawaii county civil defense agency maintained high wind warnings, wind advisories and high surf advisories for parts of the islands through Sunday evening.

The source material does not provide sufficient detail about Hurricane Polo's threat to Mexico's Baja region to develop that portion of the story.
